Happy Higher Club Customizes a Subscription Box

“I would be remiss if I didn’t talk about the experience – the ‘unboxing’ – it’s absolutely critical to us. It has to be right. And we think the BoxUp boxes we’ve created make that moment you receive the box feel special.”

Daniel Lee was working as a consultant, advising Fortune 100 companies. He held a respected position, traveled for business, and in general, enjoyed a successful career. Yet, internally he felt something was missing. He realized he wasn’t experiencing happiness at work. He didn’t love his job and wasn’t sure what to do about it. This set Daniel and a work colleague on a quest.

First, they had to leave the jobs the jobs that left them unsatisfied. From there, their mission was to discover how work could become engaging again and how they could make it fun and exciting. They felt comfortable taking on this daunting quest when they realized they weren’t alone in their level of work dissatisfaction. They took it upon themselves to find a cure and the result was the Happy Higher Club.

What is the Happy Higher Club and how is BoxUp involved?

“We took a deep dive into analyzing workplace culture. We applied processes and strategies used in our consulting work to discover the missing ingredients and develop solutions that could work,“ said Daniel.

He added, “We interviewed enough HR managers to know that many standard [or] accepted programs just weren’t working.”

These solutions weren’t just about making people happy, though. The Happy Higher Club was not only about individual satisfaction, but also workgroup and corporate success.

“Having engaged, satisfied individual performers, passionate about their work, helps not only the quality of the work but also saves money by improving retention . . . even improving the basic health of employees,” said Daniel.

Happy Higher Club sends a subscription box to the desk of an employee that contains 6 to 12 items that foster self-confidence, build relationships, and provides overall happiness at work. The types of items range from games, journals, treats, lotions, desk plants, and more.

About the BoxUp experience, Daniel said, “With BoxUp, I was able to customize the box. Everything was so easy. I investigated a few options and BoxUp had excellent pricing and the boxes looked fantastic – we get so many compliments. And I’ve always had someone to answer a question when I have it. It’s been an absolute pleasure.”

Circling back to the customer, Daniel said, “I would be remiss if I didn’t talk about the experience – the ‘unboxing’ – it’s absolutely critical to us. It has to be right. And we think the BoxUp boxes we’ve created make that moment you receive the box feel special.”
